BOKO, Feb 13: An attempt at robbery in a bank situated near national highway 17 under Boko Police station came to light on Monday morning. Unidentified miscreants attempted robbery at the Central Bank of India Bongaon Branch.
The CBI Bongaon branch cashier Jogeswar Boro said that the miscreants tried to enter the bank by breaking the window’s iron grill.
“But they failed their attempt, as they entered the bank and tried to open the locker and broke the handle of the locker.” added Boro.
He further said that under locaker, there were 18 lakhs rupees. “We don’t know when they attempted the robbery, because the bank was closed in the last two days.”
Officer in-Charge of Boko Police Station Phanindra Chandra Nath said, “We have started investigating the matter thoroughly. We couldn’t find any CCTv footage of the bank because before entering the bank they cut off the CCTV connections. But Boko Police is investigating the matter.”
It is to be mentioned that many robbery cases happened from last year under the Boko Police station jurisdiction, where miscreants had looted gold items and money from households from various places.
