DONGKAMUKAM, May 17: The Food & Civil Supplies Department held an awareness campaign on Aadhar linking with ration cards here on the premises of Rongkhang Lamps, Ghilani near Dongkamukam in West Karbi Anglong.
As per the government’s policy, the ration card has to be linked with the Aadhar card for beneficiaries to continue receiving benefits from the department.
Inspector of Food and Civil Supplies, Longkumer Engti informed that only 32 percent in the twin hill districts of Assam have been linked with Aadhar. West Karbi Anglong district is the lowest among all districts in Assam. NFSA cardholders cannot receive rice from the Lamps if their Card is not linked with Aadhar. The last date for linking ration cards with Aadhar was December 31, 2021, but the Government had extended the date to March 31, 2022, and then to May 31, 2022.
The awareness campaign was attended by joint secretary, ACS, Dilip Terang, fair shop dealers, secretary of Rongkhang Lamps, Dilip Teron and cardholders.
