Awareness programme held at Ledo Colliery Sarbajanin Primary School

Margherita, May 18: An awareness programme on ‘Right to Education’ was held at Ledo Colliery Sarbajanin Primary School under Margherita sub-division on Wednesday which was organised by Children Friends Club (NGO), Margherita and AIITA Computer Education Centre, Ledo cooperatively.

Palash Rajkumar Ahom, ADC (i/c) Margherita; Aditi Neog, Margherita election officer; Pranta Pratim Patra, executive magistrate, Margherita; Tinsukia District Legal Service Authority, secretary, A Choudhury; Ledo Sankardev High School headmistress Nang Sufati Pomung Mili; Ledo Colliery Sarbajanin Primary School headmistress Mina Nath; Ledo Colliery Sarbajanin ME School headmistress Sadhana Baruah; Roots to Fruits Pre-Primary School, Ledo director Mitali Roy; Aviraj Coaching Institute Baragolai faculty Rajshekhar Ambedkar and Avishek Beldar; Margherita Journalist Association, vice-president Samiron Borthakur; treasurer Mithun Baruah; Margherita Press Club members Jitu Gogoi, Hemanta Ghosh, Abhijit Changmai and all the students of Ledo Colliery Sarbajanin Primary School were present at the ‘Right to Education’ awareness programme.

Palash Rajkumar Ahom, ADC (i/c), Margherita in his inaugural speech said that the ratio of school dropouts has rampantly increased at Margherita sub-division and many dropout students are engaged in workshops, business establishment and other places which is a great threat to their future and through ‘Right to Education’ awareness programme, the students can be brought back to the schools again in Margherita sub-division.

“We will work relentlessly to reduce school dropouts and all those sections of people who are involving the underage dropouts at their workplace shall be punished under the law,” said Palash Rajkumar Ahom.

Aditi Neog said that ‘Right to Education’ is a fundamental right and all children must go to school as without education, the nation cannot develop.

All the present guests delivered their speech on ‘Right to Education’ and requested all the students to not dropout without completing their education.

Students of Margherita performed a drama on ‘Right to Education’ which was highly applauded by the guests. The students were felicitated with an appreciation letter.

The whole programme was moderated by Samiron Borthakur, vice-president of Margherita Journalists Association.
