NAGAON, Dec 26: Bhabendra Nath Deka, a former ‘padadhikar’ and the chief adviser to Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha, the largest socio-religious organisation of north-east India, has been nominated again as ‘padadhikar’ of Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha for the upcoming session.
While speaking to the media persons, Babul Bora, secretary general of the largest socio-religious organisation officially announced his name as ‘padadhikar’ of the organisation at its head office here at Nagaon on Sunday last.
It is noteworthy to be mentioned here that Deka had rendered his service as the principal of Rangia College from 1997 to 2004 and also served as the editor of ‘Monikanchan’ – the mouthpiece of Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha from 1995 to 2004 following which he took the charge of ‘ upa padadhikar’ of the organisation from 2011 to 2014. Subsequently, he was elected as ‘padadhikar’ of Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha for the first time in 2015 and led the largest socio-religious organisation till 2019, Bora added.
