Bihu Dance Workshop Concludes In Tezpur University

TEZPUR, April 13: The concluding function of the Bihu dance workshop organised as a week-long programme by the Tezpur University’s Non-Teaching Employees Association was held on Tuesday in the Tezpur University community hall. The meeting held for the purpose was presided over by Mahendra Kumar Nath, senior office bearer of the organisation and central body member of Assam Sahitya Sabha. Dr Dhanapati Deka, dean, Students Welfare, Tezpur University attended the programme as chief guest while Dr Biren Das, registrar, Tezpur University took the chair as distinguished guest. Dr Dhanapati Deka in his deliberation urged everyone to come forward to acquaint themselves with the cultural aspects of Assam while Dr Biren Das highly applauded the Tezpur University Non-Teaching Employees Association for its yeoman efforts dedicated towards the benevolence of the young generation in and around the university campus. From the chair of the president, Mahendra Kumar Nath encouraged everyone to let the children become familiar with the sphere of their own culture, language, literature and values from the early stage of their life. During the programme, the participants performed Bihu dance and certificates were distributed among the participants. Among others, Dipanjali Sinha, Mriganka Mohan Das, Barnali Das, Rekha Bezbarua, Mitharam Handique, Prabin Kumar Bora and Suren Barua shouldered different responsibilities during the programme.
