KOKRAJHAR, Nov 16: The 74th Bodo Thunlai San (Bodo Sahitya Divosh) was celebrated across Assam on Sunday, marking the foundation day of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha.
In Kokrajhar, the Kokrajhar Primary Bodo Sahitya Sabha observed the day at Khargaon with a range of literary activities for students. Similarly, the Banargaon Primary Bodo Sahitya Sabha held a day-long programme at Banargaon-Khagrabari Community Hall, which included an open discussion on the development and promotion of the Bodo language and literature.
Bodoland University also commemorated the day with various programmes across its campuses. The celebrations were conducted by district and unit committees of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, along with participation from educational institutions across Assam, West Bengal and Meghalaya, where Bodo communities reside.
The Bodo Sahitya Sabha was founded on this day in 1952 with Jaybhadra Hagjer as president and Sonaram Thaosen as secretary, establishing a platform dedicated to the preservation and development of the Bodo language and literature.
