Bodoland Mohotsov: Pramod Boro extends gratitude to PM Modi

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 18: The celebration of the first-ever Bodoland Mohotsov-a mega cultural event being held at the SAI Indira Gandhi Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi was concluded on Saturday that marked enthusiastic gracing of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and several Union members during the two-day program scheduled.

Pramod Boro, the CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, extended his gratitude and sincere thanks to PM Modi for his deeply moving remarks about the vibrant Bodoland Mohotsav, and the rich culture & heritage of Bodos, and BTR’s journey of peace at the HT Leadership Summit.

He stated that the PM feels the pain of Bodo mothers, brothers, and sisters who suffered through the dark of five decades, and it is he who catalysed BTR’s transformation from violence to peace through the historic BTR Peace Accord which was regarded as the third Bodo peace accord.

“It is my immense gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji for his deeply moving remarks about the vibrant 1st Bodoland Mohotsav, our rich culture & heritage, and BTR’s journey of peace at the HT Leadership Summit. Hon’ble PM feels the pain of our Bodo mothers, brothers and sisters who suffered through the dark decades, and it is he who catalysed BTR’s transformation from violence to peace through the historic BTR Peace Accord. He is truly the messenger of peace, not just for BTR & North East, but for us & for the entire nation”, Boro said.

“His role as a guiding light and a steering force behind the historic BTR Peace Accord is etched in the hearts of every citizen of Bodoland. As we celebrate this vibrant festival of Bodoland’s history & heritage, we reaffirm our commitment towards building BTR into the beacon of peace & progress which he has envisioned,” Boro added.

More than five thousand participants from different districts of Bodoland Territorial Region, state of Assam, representatives from various states like West Bengal, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and neighbouring countries Nepal, Bhutan participated in the mega event.

The event was organised by the All Bodo Students Union, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Dularai Bodo Harimu Afad in association with the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) to explore the rich culture, heritage of Bodos, and journey of peace and tranquillity in Bodoland region.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, inaugurated the Bodoland Mohotsov amidst the presence of a huge crowd of participants, educational intellectuals, academicians across the region, and subsequently received a grand success in it’s event.

In his speech, Modi emphasised on the welfare and sustainable development initiatives being initiated by the government of BTR under the leadership of Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, NDA alliance government.

He lauded the organisers of the event, stating that since signing the BTR peace accord in 2020, the Bodoland region reached new heights in the fields of peace establishment, tranquillity amongst the citizens, and subsequently development initiatives achieved in today’s juncture.

ABSU president Dipen Boro, and Bodo Sahitya Sabha president, Dr Surath Narzary have also extended their deep gratitude and thanks to PM Modi for his kind gracious during the inaugural ceremony that highlighted the meaningful success of the Bodoland Mohotsov mega event.
