GUWAHATI, June 19: A book titled ‘Mohiruha’ was released in honour of the veteran social activist Alhaj Siddique Rahman. The book release ceremony took place at a meeting held in memory of the late Alhaj Siddique Rahman and was graced by Padmashree Dr Ilias Ali. The meeting was organised by writer-journalist Azizur Rahman Saikia, who also served as the editor of the book.
The event was attended by esteemed guests, including educationalist Mira Bhattacharya, social activist Nabin Sarma, and government Gaon Pradhan Jamal Rahman, who were the guests of honour. The book, ‘Mohiruha’, chronicles the remarkable life and contributions of Alhaj Siddique Rahman.
Several dignitaries and representatives from various organisations were present at the meeting, including Aminul Haque, president of Guwahati Artist Guild, Bipul Rava, vice-president of AASU (All Assam Students’ Union), Hafizul Ahmed, chairman of Goria Development Council, Selim Ahmed, Taizuddin Ahmad, Milan Boro, Anil Kalita, Bhaswati Kalita, Subhas Nath, Moniram Das, Dhurbajyoti Das, Babul Ahmed, Mafizur Rahman, Ahmed Nekibuz Zaman, Rupjyoti Das, Anjana Das Hazarika, Raifuddin Ahmed, Sohid Ali Ahmed, and many others.
