JORHAT, Nov 26: In a shocking incident in Jorhat, a businessman, Mihir Dalmia, was assaulted and robbed of about Rs 10 lakh by four assailants in the Marwari Patty area. The incident occurred around 9:30 pm on Saturday night on the busy AT Road.

According to police officials, the four assailants arrived on two motorcycles and attacked Mihir Dalmia with a cricket bat just 50 meters away from his house, near his shop, Jahnvi Textiles. Mihir, along with his associate Munin, was returning home after closing the shop when the assault took place.

As a result of the attack, Mihir Dalmia suffered a broken skull and other traumatic injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment at JMCH (Jorhat Medical College and Hospital).

The assailants managed to snatch around Rs 10 lakh from the businessman. Notably, Mihir had switched off the CCTV cameras installed in front of and inside the shop after closing.
