DIPHU, Dec 9: The Department of Agriculture, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, organised a Buyer-Seller Conference at the Arboretum cum Craft Centre, Diphu on Tuesday. The event aimed to facilitate communication between farmers, production groups, traders and various market organisations.
The conference focused on the display, pricing and quality requirements of locally grown agricultural products, as well as long-term market linkage opportunities. Companies reliant on agricultural products from across India directly discussed commercial aspects with departmental officials, Farmers Producer Companies (FPCs) and local farmers of Karbi Anglong.
The Principal Secretary of the Autonomous Council, Mukul Kumar Saikia, expressed hope that the upcoming “Ginger Festival cum Buyer-Seller Meet” would be conducted smoothly and successfully. Other officials present included Dilip Terang (Secretary I/C Agriculture), Bidyashree Langthasa (Deputy Secretary I/C Agriculture, KA), K Dayamay Sinha (Chief Scientist, AAU-Regional Agricultural Research Station, Diphu), Mukul Bharati Nath (District Agriculture Officer), Pirbi Tissopi (Sr ADO Marketing), Serjili Hansepi (District Agriculture Information Officer) and Gauranga Chetia (ADO).
