Capacity building in engineering environment is a driver for economic & sustainable development: Pramod Boro

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 15: Central Institute of Technology celebrated Engineer’s Day with befitting programmes at its complex in Kokrajhar on Thursday.

An open discussion was held on the topic of the role of engineers in the development of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) to mark the celebration.
Director of IIT Guwahati, TG Sitaraman launched the CEM’s Project Management Certification Programme for engineers of Bodoland region.
Sitaraman highlighted the importance of engineers and their influences in today’s life.
BTR chief executive member, Pramod Boro, while addressing the Engineer’s Day celebration, said that the BTR Government has been stepping up to extend services for the welfare and human resources development in the region.
He said that the BTR Government has ceremonially launched the CEM’s Project Management Certification Programme for engineers of Bodoland region on the occasion.
“The program is a capacity building and training program for the engineers working in various departments of the Bodoland Territorial Region districts. The project has been emphasising to start a relevant capacity building and training programs for the benefits of the engineers. Capacity building in the engineering environment is a driver for economic, social, and sustainable development and assumes importance against the backdrop of the renewed thrust of the present BTR administration towards a safe, smart and green Bodoland,” Boro said.
He mentioned that the program has been launched while understanding the major role to be played by the engineers in the future development of Bodoland Territorial Region.
“The programme will cover phase wise training and certification for engineers at all levels,” Boro added.
MLA Lawrence Islary, NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati executive director Subrata Batman, DGM of NF Railway Pranabjyoti Sharma, BTC secretary Amarjyoti Barman were prominent attendees on the occasion.
