SIVASAGAR, April 19: ONGC, Assam Asset celebrated the 134th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the Chief architect of the Indian Constitution.
The celebration was a vivid homage to Ambedkar’s legacy, emphasizing his role as a champion of human rights and his commitment to justice and equality. Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem, Executive Director & Asset Manager of ONGC Assam Asset paid glowing tributes to the great Indian leader. The event featured various cultural performances and speeches that highlighted Ambedkar’s contributions to society.
He emphasized on the significance of Ambedkar’s work in advocating for the rights of marginalized communities through the Indian Constitution. He remarked, “Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was a champion of human rights and gave privilege to justice and equality to all citizens through the Indian Constitution.”
In a momentous addition to the celebration, ONGC Assam Asset dedicated a life-size statue of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika at ONGC Colony, Oen Pandal , Sivasagar. Hazarika, a legendary musical icon of Assam, made significant contributions to Indian music and art.
The statue was inaugurated by Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem, Executive Director, ONGC, Assam Asset. In his speech, he said that the installation of Dr Hazarika’s statue reflects ONGC’s commitment to honouring the cultural icons that shaped the identity of Assam.
Nettem appreciated the efforts of the All India SC/ST Employees Welfare Association (AISCSTEWA), ONGC Assam Asset Nazira/Sivasagar Branch. He commended the leadership of Chairman Dembi Ram Panging for this noble endeavour, ensuring that the legacy of Hazarika is preserved and celebrated.
Speaking on the occasion, Working President-CWC and Chairman of AISCSTEWA ONGC Assam Asset , Dembi Ram Panging highlighted the great sacrifice and fight for humanity, equality and rights for all citizens and making Indian constitution as the Chairman of drafting Committee. He deeply appreciated the ONGC Assam Asset management for installing the life size statue of the great son of Assam, Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarka at ONGC Colony, Sivasagar and conveyed thanks and gratitude to all groups and individuals for their supports.
The Brouchure-2, an activity reports of AISCSTEWA, ONGC, Assam asset, was released by Pradip Kanti Das, GM(Production) and Liaison officer for SC/ST and the meeting was also addressed by Jayanta Patar, CGM(Electrical)–Former National President of AIOBC/MOBCEWA, Sanjeeb Baruah, General Secretary of ONGC Purbanchal Employees Welfare Association and Jagat Hazarika, secretary, AISCSTEWA,ONGC.
It was attended by VCC, invited dignitaries, employees, representatives from ASTO, Union, AIOBC/MOBC EWA and various community cultural troops. The gathering was marked by a spirit of reverence and celebration, honouring two great sons of India.
