KOKRAJHAR, Aug 8: A review meeting on health-related issues, particularly concerning the outbreak of vector-borne diseases in Udalguri district, was held at the Udalguri district commissioner’s office on Wednesday.
The meeting discussed the status of vector-borne diseases in Udalguri and the measures being initiated to prevent the spread of diseases like Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis, etc., in the district.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), chaired the meeting, which was attended by deputy CEM of BTR, Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, BTR executive members Nilut Swargiary, Diganta Baruah, MCLA Deepak Mour, the joint director of Health Services, senior government officials of BTR, domain experts, and epidemiologists.
CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro, said that the meeting discussed the status of vector-borne diseases spreading across Udalguri district and the steps being taken to prevent the spread.
“We discussed the status of vector-borne diseases in Udalguri and the measures being taken to prevent the spread of diseases like Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis, etc., in the district. We are working round the clock to ensure the well-being of our citizens, and I appeal to all to take necessary precautions and immediately visit a doctor if they experience any symptoms,” Boro said.
