CEM Pramod Boro lays stress on developmental activities in BTC

Emphasizes for ushering of sustainable development

KOKRAJHAR, April 17: Pramod Boro, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) extended his warm greetings to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on the occasion of Assamese New Year and Rongjali Bwisagu/Rongali Bihu.

Addressing to reporters at a press conference held at the Bodoland Guest House here on Thursday, the CEM of BTR Pramod Boro said that most of the clauses of the BTR accord had been implemented while cases against the NDFB members have been withdrawn other than heinous cases. 54 cadres with NIA cases have been under trial and the government of BTR has pursued the government of India through state government for disposing off their cases. The cases of 54 cadres have been returned to the government of Assam by NIA and for disposing off their cases the government of Assam is taking due initiative. The government of Assam in collaboration of NDFB and ABSU has been working for their release from the jail.

He said the verified cadres of the NDFB have been given rehabilitation grant and in phase wise, the government of is going to extend financial assistance to the BLT martyrs and their families who have not received rehabilitation grants.

Boro stated that the system of BTC administration has been restored and being elected government, the Peace, Green and Smart BTR is taken to recover the green coverage and biodiversity of the region.

“We are going to revive green Bodoland through Green Bodoland Mission (GBM), got two National Parks-Raimana National Park and Sikhna Jwhwlao National Park”, he said adding that the Green Bodoland Mission will also work for reducing the global warming. He said that more than 1.10 lakh saplings were planted at different places in the region since inception of the Green Bodoland Mission besides adopted ten villages across the region.

He said the single use plastic would be stopped and alternative would be brought through GBM. He also said Peace Mission was another significant initiative of the government of BTR and the region has witnessed no violence and clashes as peace has been established.

CEM Boro said that the 2020 revolution in Bodoland region has brought a ushering of sustainable development and welfare amongst the citizens as UPPL-BJP’s people’s mandate

on December 15 2020, the people voted for change in Bodoland Territorial Region.

He said that the UPPL BJP alliance government has initiated various humanity welfare and development initiatives towards the bringing healthy development.

He stated that the BTR region now has witnessed permanent peace amongst the communities post signing of BTR peace accord, signed on January 27,2020 and accordingly Bodoland region is paved the way of peace and development.

He informed that several 4,765 youth leaders trained in conflict resolution; 4881 ex-NDFB cadres rehabilitated across the region

He said that there was zero communal violence in Bodoland region in last five years.

He said that the UPPL-BJP alliance government in BTR has been committed to work for all round development and welfare of the communities.
