DONGKAMUKAM, April 10: The chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang inaugurated the three-day 2nd Asomi Bohagi Mela 2023, being organised by the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) in collaboration with Panchayat & Rural Development (P&RD) Department at Tumpreng in West Karbi Anglong on Monday.
Speaking as the chief guest, CEM Ronghang said that Rs 50 lakh each will be given to each of the 26 Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) constituencies for constructing weaving centres for SHGs.
In addition to that, another Rs 50 lakh as special package from Rs 1 crore for purchase of furniture will also be given, the CEM announced.
He lauded the organisers for giving a market facility to sell different traditional dresses by rural SHGs, where dozens of stalls have been installed inside the venue.
MLA Dhorsing Ronghang also briefed the people present on the occasion.
The programme was attended by executive members (EMs), KAAC, Amarsing Tisso and Madhurium Lekthe; MLA Dorsing Ronghang and Member of Autonomous Council (MACs) Johnny Timung, Headsing Rongphar, Longbison Bey, Abhijit Kro and Phenphiga Rengma and chairman, Veterinary Development Board, Ditolal Hasnu and president, BJP WKADC, Radip Ronghang.
