DONGKAMUKAM, Nov 7: The chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang attending as the chief guest at the 26th Wangala Festival in Karbi Anglong promised to look into the problems of the Garo community.
He said, “Compensation will be given to those whose land will be acquired for the Solar Plant if they have valid land documents. The 17 km road from Bokulia to Klurdung will black topped soon.”
The Wangala, post harvest festival of the Garos is being organised by Karbi Anglong A’chik Cultural Society from Nov 5 to 7.
MLAs Bidyasing Engleng and Dhorsing Ronghang; executive members, KAAC, Madhuram Lekthe, Amarsing Tisso, Richard Tokbi and Bilimohan Khaklary and others attended the occasion.
On Monday morning, in the delegate session, the ad hoc committee of the Karbi Anglong A’chik Cultural Society (KAACS) was formally made into a full-fledged body with Sajendra Sangma as president and Sien Arengh as general secretary for 5 year terms.
