NAGAON, Oct 22: As per directive of National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad, its North East Regional Center (NFDB -NERC) in association with the NSS unit, College of Fisheries, AAU, Raha, Nagaon as well as Department of Fisheries, Nagaon conducted a cleanliness cum awareness drive at Nagaon Borbazar wholesale fish market on Friday last here.
AK Borah, executive (Tech) cum officer in charge, NERC, Guwahati, Sushil Nath, DFDO, Nagaon, Imtiaz Ahmed, assistant professor, Department of FRM and in-charge of NSS unit of college of fisheries with his students, president and secretary of fish vendors, wholesalers as well as retailers of Nagaon Borbazar wholesale fish market participated in the programme and cleaned up the entire market following which the participants sanitised with bleaching powder.
It is mentionable that before the drive, the market is witnessed with full of garbage, wastage, foul fish as well as spoiled fish lying on the floor of the market which apparently poses threats to the hygiene of health.
