Cyber crime gang busted

NAGAON, Aug 1: In a major breakthrough, Nagaon Police on Friday busted a cyber crime gang and arrested six individuals, including two from outside the state, for their alleged involvement in fraudulent online activities.

The arrests were made from a hotel named Dhaly Islamia located in the Dhing Gate area of Nagaon.

According to sources, the accused have been identified as Yuvanjit Singh and Rohit Kumar Singh from Chandigarh, and Aijul Islam, Tafazzul Hussain, Jiyarul Islam, and Abdul Sahib—all residents of Nagaon.

A case (No 602/25) has been registered at Nagaon Sadar Police Station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act, including sections 61(2), 318(4), 316(2), 336(3), 66(C), and 66(D). Further investigation is underway, police sources added.
