DIPHU: Dengue cases are rising in Karbi Anglong. The district vector borne consultant, Health & Family Welfare Department, Obed Killing said preventive measures are being taken to tackle the disease.
Killing said a total of 37 ELISA tests were done of which 12 were positive. There is no official report of death due to dengue cases yet.
Preventive measures like fogging are being done every evening in Diphu town, source reduction of breeding ground of mosquitoes, spraying of insecticide and others are also being taken care of, Killing said.
Further, Killing has urged the public to take precautionary measures and to use mosquito nets while sleeping. Dengue virus vector mosquitoes bite during the day and people should wear full sleeve shirts.
Killing further said that there is no specific medicine for treatment of dengue.
Doctors give treatment according to symptoms of the dengue, he added.
