District Level Youth Festival Of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Held In Sonitpur

TEZPUR, Oct 18: 
The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Sonitpur organised a day-long District Level Youth Festival – 2022 on Monday at Suryoday High School, Gotlong in collaboration with Gotlong Adarsha Yuva Sangha. Students of various colleges and schools of Sonitpur district participated in the programme.

Various competitions including photography, art, anchoring, and dance, etc., were held amongst the youths for the occasion. The participants were from Tezpur College, Assam Valley Senior Secondary School, Rangapara College, Tezpur Law College, Panchmile Girls Higher Secondary School, Al-Kausar Model Academy, Suryoday Higher English School and other schools and colleges in Sonitpur district.

Raj Borah, ADC, Sonitpur attended as chief guest in the programme and urged the youth community in his speech to come forward to dedicate their services for overall benevolence and reformation of the society.
Literary activist, Siraj Khan; youth leader Rajib Das; cultural activist Uttam Kumar Das; head master of Suryoday High School, Atul Chandra Barua; assistant teachers – Mansur Ali Yakub Uddin Ahmed and Shyamal Chandra Das attended the programme as guest of honour along with  Bikash Chandra Pradhan, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sonitpur district officer and NYK official Biswajit Das.

Dr Sankar Chakraborty and Nurul Amin, adviser, Gotlong Adarsha Yuva Sangha, youth representative and media activist Saidul Islam addressed the gathering.
Saidul Islam emphasised on self-employment of the youths and the vital role they play towards the reformation the society.
The special felicitation event held during the programme was hosted by Mirzanur Hussain, president, Gotlong Adarsha Yuva Sangha while assistant secretary of the Sangha, Aftab Hussain assisted in smooth performance of the programme.

It is to be mentioned that the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, government of India has decided to organise youth festivals at district, state and national level on a similar pattern to ensure progress from district to state and state to national level under each competition, which would mean that the winners of district level will be given an opportunity to participate in state level and similarly winners of the state level shall participate in national levels.
