JORHAT, Dec 31: A team from the office of assistant registrar of Cooperative Societies, Jorhat, on Friday seized documents related to accounts of the head-office of the Asom Bahumukhi Samabai Samiti Limited at AT Road here as per the order from Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), government of Assam.
An official stated that the action was simultaneously carried out in all 217 branches of the state as per the order of RCS. The official said that teams of Cooperative Societies department will carry out an audit of the accounts of the head-office and branches of Asom Bahumukhi Samabai Samiti Limited.
He said the action of seizing documents was in wake of suspected anomalies committed in the accounts of the said cooperative society. Complaints in this regard were received by the top authorities of the department, the official added.
