JORHAT, Feb 3: Under the Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative, MN Bottle Industries, a 20-litre jar and dispenser manufacturing unit was inaugurated on Tuesday at Bamun Gaon in Baligaon, near Rajahouli, Jorhat district.
The production unit is seen as a step towards promoting sustainable packaging solutions while contributing to industrial development and employment generation in the region.
The unit was formally inaugurated by Jorhat MLA Hitendra Nath Goswami, who highlighted the role of such industries in providing employment opportunities to local youth. He expressed confidence that although the venture has started on a small scale, it has the potential to grow into a large industry in the future.
Speaking at the event, Goswami noted that manufacturing a 20-litre jar within two minutes using modern technology is a challenging task. He said initiatives like Advantage Assam are helping young people become self-reliant and pointed out that the Assam government has introduced several industrial schemes, including financial assistance and subsidies, to encourage entrepreneurship among financially weaker youth.
The MLA also mentioned that such initiatives were started during the tenure of former Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and have been further strengthened under current Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. Jorhat district BJP president Shantanu Pujari and other dignitaries were present at the event as special guests.
