KOKRAJHAR, Jan 6: Eminent Bodo film actor Tikendra Narzary, who is popularly known as Jalakho passed away late on Thursday evening at his Haloadol residence in Kokrajhar district.
According to family source, Narzary was suffering from his age ailments since few months back and was going under treatment at his own residence.
He breathed his last post dinner in the evening around 10 pm. He was about 71.
He was eminent actor of Bodo film world through his good act in several feature films including Alayaron, Bashiram Jwhwlao etc.
Narzary was also well known among the citizens for his social work in his days. He was also associated with many social organisations including Bodo Cultural Association, Bodo Sahitya Sabha.
The Alayaron Bodo feature film received national award which was produced in 1986 which was directed by noted film director Jwngdao Bodosa.
The Bodo community as well Bodo cinema world lost a great social activist and actor with his demise.
Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Pramod Boro visited at the residence of Narzary and paid floral tribute as last respect on Friday morning.
He was accompanied with BTC Legislative Assembly speaker Katiram Boro, BTC executive members and MCLAs during the visit.
Boro, while extending his deep condolence and mourning over his demise, said that the society lost a great actor who was well known among the citizens as Jalakho.
He prayed for his eternal rest in peace.
Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Toren Boro and general secretary Prasanto Boro have condoled over the demise of Tikendra Narzary.
The Sabha leaders recalled contributions of Narzary in the Bodo film world and prayed for his eternal peace.
President of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) Dipen Boro also extended deep mourning and condolences on the demise of eminent actor Tikendra Narzary.
