NAGAON, Dec 24: Kaustubh Kashyap Boruah (Pithu), former Ranji cricketer and the proprietor of popular hotel of Nagaon town ‘Ahaar’ – located near at Nagaon ASTC bus stand, breathed his last at a city hospital in Guwahati in the wee hours of Saturday while he was undergoing treatment for quite some time. He was only 53.
Boruah led Assam team in Ranji trophy a few years back and was also shortlisted for Indian cricket team. He was the only son of noted painting artist of the district Late Pranab Boruah. His untimely demise has cast a pall of gloom in the entire small town. He leaves behind his wife, his only son and a host of relatives.
Local MLA Rupak Sarma, former minister Girindra Kr Boruah, former MLA Dr Durlav Chomua, Nagaon Press Club, district units of All Assam Journalists’ Union (AAJU), AASU, AJYCP, Nagaon Sports Association and other sports organisations as well as sports dignitaries expressed their grieves over his untimely demise and prayed for his eternal peace in the heaven.
