It may be mentioned that the UPDS was formed on 12th March, 1999 and entered into a ceasefire with the Centre and state government in 2002 while the MOS Accord was signed on 25th November 2011.

Interacting with the media, adviser of Ex-UPDSWS, Abhijit Hanse said, “We are heartbroken with the implementation of MoS Accord-2011 signed in 2011. The implementation of the clauses has not been made available to us. The roads that have been constructed in Karbi Anglong are all from the MoS packaged schemes. We have lost our hope on MP Horensing Bey and executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Surya Rongphar.”

It may be mentioned that MP Horensing Bey and executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Surya Rongphar are former UPDS leaders.

About the steps taken by the Government for their rehabilitation, Hanse informed that the government has disbursed Rs. 1,50,000 each to the cadres of UPDS after signing the Accord and nothing after that. They were tricked by the sweet words of the political leaders. The Centre and Assam government should stop cheating them again. The MoS is hanging in the middle.

Former leaders and cadres of the organisation also attended the program.
