Former MLA Chandi Basumatary joins UPPL

KOKRAJHAR, April 5: Former MLA of Tamulpur LAC, Chandi Basumatary, ex-BTC executive member Chrisostam Tudu, social activist Uttam Brahma and three other BPF leaders joined the UPPL party at a programme held at UPPL central office in Kokrajhar on Tuesday.

UPPL president Pramod Boro who is also BTR CEM, BTR deputy CEM Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, senior UPPL leaders welcomed and offered warm felicitation to the new members.

Notably, the ruling UPPL party has been reigning the BTR government under the leadership of Pramod Boro under the banner of UPPL-BJP- GSP alliance in Bodoland Territorial Region and alliance partner in the state under the BJP AGP UPPL alliance.

Presently, UPPL have 7 MLAs and one Rajya Sabha MP in the Parliament.

Boro said that his party has been emphasising towards the welfare and integration of the society since its inception.

BTC deputy chief executive member Basumatary said that former MLA and ex-BTC executive member Tudu formally joined the UPPL party in presence of the UPPL president Pramod Boro. He said that many new members from different parties and organisations are joining the party.
