Foundation stone for new building of Ledo Central Commerce College laid

MARGHERITA, May 18: 
The foundation stone for new building of Ledo Central Commerce College was laid on Wednesday which is situated at Maulang Road in Ledo under Margherita sub-division.
The Ledo Central Commerce College was established in the year 2018 under the leadership of its principal, Anil Konwar as his aim was to establish a college for those students who want to study commerce in the small-scale industrial town of Ledo.
“During the time of establishment of the college, several social workers of Ledo region extended their helping hand on various occasions and even during the inauguration of the new building, Govin Chetry, noted social worker of Ledo area gave an amount of Rs 3 lakh for its construction,” said Anil Konwar.
The foundation stone was laid by senior citizen and noted social worker of Ledo, Krishna Prasad Sharma Dev where retired headmistress Mina Nath Gogoi; Laxmi Nath Halwa, retired headmaster of Ledo Maulang Khamti LP School; Bishnu Sharma, gaon pradhan of Maulang; social worker Tarun Gogoi; Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha’s former president Chandra Gautam and several other dignitaries from the area were present.
“In the small-scale industrial town of Ledo, there are three larger educational institutions – Ledo College, Ledo Central Commerce College and Ledo ITI and being a citizen of this area, we are really happy and grateful,” said Mina Nath Gogoi, retired headmistress of Tirap Colliery Sarbajanin LP School.
