GOALPARA, June 25: Goalpara District Commissioner Prodip Timung on Thursday assured that all information collected during the forthcoming Census exercise would remain strictly confidential and would not be shared with any third party.
Speaking on the concluding day of a three-day Field Trainers’ Training programme at the District Agriculture Training Centre, Timung sought to allay public concerns regarding the collection of personal information, stating that all data gathered during the census would remain secure under the custody of Census India.
The training programme was organised to prepare personnel for the upcoming door-to-door household census across the district.
It aimed to equip enumerators and officials with the necessary knowledge and practical skills for the smooth and effective conduct of the exercise.
The District Commissioner participated in the training sessions and interacted with the trainees on various aspects of census operations.
During the concluding session, he responded to queries raised by participants and assured them that any challenges encountered during fieldwork would be addressed promptly.
Timung also stated that identity cards would be issued to census personnel wherever required to facilitate their work and address any issues related to identification during household visits.
Emphasising the importance of public confidence and cooperation, he urged the trainees to reassure residents that all information collected during the census would remain completely confidential and protected under the provisions of Census India.
He also appealed to the public to extend full cooperation to census officials to ensure the successful completion of the nationwide exercise.
Officials said the training programme focused on familiarising enumerators with census procedures, data collection protocols and field-level responsibilities to ensure accurate and efficient implementation of the exercise across Goalpara district.
