HAFLONG, Dec 17: The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India, has announced the launch of the fourth edition of Sushasan Saptah (Good Governance Week), scheduled from December 19 to 24.
This year’s theme, ”Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” (Administration Towards the Village), highlights the government’s focus on strengthening governance and empowering rural communities.
The Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore 2024 campaign is being conducted in two phases across Dima Hasao, as well as the rest of the country: the preparatory phase and the implementation phase.
During the week-long initiative, special public grievance redressal camps will be organised to provide citizens with direct access to address their concerns. Service delivery applications will be processed through the Sewa Setu portal, modernising public service delivery and improving accessibility.
Achievements in resolving public grievances will be featured on the DARPG portal to promote transparency and accountability.
District Commissioner Simanta Kumar Das has entrusted additional deputy commissioner Sangeeta Devi with overseeing the effective implementation of the campaign. A special grievance redressal camp will operate at the District Commissioner’s office to enhance service delivery and address public concerns.
As part of the initiative, a workshop will be conducted on December 23 to compile and submit best practices in governance on the Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore portal. This workshop will bring together insights from districts across the states to foster knowledge sharing.
Similarly, North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) principal secretary Thai Tsho Daulagupu has directed all council department heads to organise grievance redressal camps and ensure timely processing of service delivery applications through the Sewa Setu portal.
The Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore campaign is a cornerstone of ‘Good Governance Week,’ aiming to make development accessible at the grassroots level. By fostering transparency, efficiency, and citizen welfare, the initiative strengthens the foundation of grassroots democracy.
Central to the campaign’s success is the active participation of citizens, positioning them as key contributors to the governance process and ensuring their voices are heard in the development journey.
