Guwahati, July 24: During his inaugural visit to Goalpara district, Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria visited the esteemed Sainik School and held a meeting with the school’s principal, Col YS Parmar SM, along with other staff members. Accompanied by the DC and SP, the Governor received a comprehensive overview of the school’s facilities, course curriculum, and admission procedures, along with insights into the students’ exceptional achievements in sports and various defense examinations.
Addressing the teachers and students of the school, Governor Kataria underscored the significance of discipline in nurturing individual growth. He expressed his pleasure at witnessing the school’s unwavering commitment to imparting high-quality education, equipping students to selflessly serve in defense services and contribute to the nation’s progress. Commending the school for its role in promoting education, the Governor encouraged the students to embrace a deep love for the motherland, preserve cultural heritage, and foster self-sufficiency.
Governor Kataria highlighted the positive trend of girls excelling in diverse sectors and stressed the pivotal roles both boys and girls play in the nation’s growth. He envisioned a future where their collective contributions would lead India to emerge as a Vishwaguru (World Guru). The Governor proposed arranging exposure visits for students to underprivileged areas, fostering empathy and compassion, motivating them to make positive contributions to the lives of the less fortunate.
Emphasising the essence of education in collective growth, Governor Kataria urged Sainik School, Goalpara, to lead in supporting collective development initiatives. He also emphasised the adoption of sustainable practices and requested the installation of solar grids to generate the school’s power.
Continuing his visit, the Governor explored the Sri Suryapahar archaeological site and the Suryapahar Archaeological Museum, showcasing the region’s rich historical heritage, featuring fascinating antiques and artifacts.
