Haflong hosts intellectual meet, pad yatra to mark 12 years of Modi govt

HAFLONG, June 25: An Intellectual Meet, exhibition and Pad Yatra were organised in Haflong on Thursday as part of the nationwide celebrations marking 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led Government under the theme of service, good governance, development and public welfare.

The programme, held at the Cultural Hall Institute in Haflong, was attended by MLA Rupali Langthasa, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC) Chairman Mohit Hojai, Executive Members Niranjan Hojai and Amien Lienthang, DHAC Member of Autonomous Council Ramgalungbe Zeme, distinguished speaker Dinesh Tiwari, programme convener Kulbindra Bathari, party leaders, karyakartas and invited guests.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers highlighted the achievements of the Central Government over the past 12 years, focusing on governance reforms, infrastructure development, public welfare initiatives and nation-building efforts.

They also emphasised the need for collective efforts towards building a developed, self-reliant and prosperous India.

An exhibition showcasing major flagship schemes and achievements of the Government of India was organised alongside the event, drawing the attention of participants and visitors.

Following the intellectual session, the dignitaries, party leaders, karyakartas and supporters participated in a Pad Yatra through the streets of Haflong town.

The march was organised as a public outreach initiative highlighting the themes of service, inclusive development and good governance.

The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to contributing towards the nation’s progress and welfare in line with the vision of a developed India.
