DHUBRI, June 14: In a significant operation against illegal timber trade, the Sapatgram Forest Depot under Dhubri Forest Division dismantled an illegal band saw mill at Bamunigaon near Nayarhat on Saturday. The operation was carried out as per the instructions of Golap Kr. Bania, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Dhubri.
The enforcement team was led by Sahabaz Sultan, In-Charge of the Sapatgram Forest Depot, who, along with his staff, executed the dismantling and seizure of the unauthorised saw mill, which was operating in violation of forest laws under the jurisdiction of Sapatgram Forest Depot.
This action reflects the renewed vigilance and zero-tolerance policy of the Dhubri Forest Division under the dynamic leadership of DFO Golap Kr. Bania.
The Forest Department has reaffirmed its commitment to take strict action against illegal forest activities and mafias operating in the region.
