DHUBRI, April 2: The Government of Assam has launched an initiative to organize health and welfare camps in every gram panchayat across the state to promote health awareness among the public. As part of this initiative, the inauguration ceremony of the district-wise health and welfare camp took place on Tuesday at the Dhubri District Library Auditorium.
The event was formally inaugurated by Dibakar Nath, the District Commissioner of Dhubri, who emphasized the importance of such camps in ensuring better health and welfare for the residents. The function was attended by several dignitaries, including Debamoy Sanyal, Chairman of Dhubri Municipal Board, Shanta Karki Chetri, Additional Commissioner of Dhubri District, Dr Natyabir Das, Joint Director (In-charge) of the Dhubri District Health Department, and officials from the National Health Mission, Assam. Local residents were also present at the event, showing their support for the initiative.
The health and welfare camps are set to be held across all 128 gram panchayats in Dhubri district, aiming to educate people about health issues, promote hygiene, and provide necessary medical assistance. This initiative is part of the state government’s broader plan to strengthen healthcare services and raise awareness about the importance of good health in rural areas.
The health camps will be an important step towards improving public health infrastructure and providing essential healthcare services to underserved communities in Dhubri.
