International Day Of Peace Observed At Manja

DIPHU, Sept 21: With the rest of the world the Lhangmi Welfare Society, a philanthropic organisation of Manja observed International Day of Peace with the theme: ‘End Racism, Build Peace’ at Manja Senior Secondary School, where altogether 150 students participated in the day-long programme.

President of the Lhangmi Welfare Society, Lengin Singson welcomed the dignitaries and students and also shared the main aim and objectives of the Society as well as the importance of observing the International Day of Peace.

Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Phengpiga H Rengma, KAAC, attended the observation as guest speaker. Rengma encouraged the youths and students to bring peace in the family and in the society. He also mentioned that without justice peace cannot be achieved.

The principal, Manja Senior Secondary School, P Hangsing attended the programme as the chief host and president, Dimasa Students Union, Dhiraj Diphusa was the invited guest. The dignitaries appreciated the organiser Lhangmi Welfare Society for taking an initiative in observing the day by bringing together all tribes and communities.
