BOKAJAN, July 3: Indigenous Tribes Protection of Karbi Anglong (ITPKA) has requested the chief executive member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang to facilitate the early release of All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) leader Angtong Engti Kathar.

It may be mentioned that Kathar was arrested in connection with a case in Diphu Police Station in Karbi Anglong.

Addressing a press conference at Hanjanglangso PWD IB, the president of ITPKA, Bokajan Regional Committee, David Rongphar said, “Angtong Engti is a hero of the masses who loves his land. ITPKA expresses its sadness at his arrest.”

ITPKA said arresting such people who fight for the people means breaking those who stand for the people. “The organisation is not supporting the APHLC and is not against the BJP. ITPKA does not associate with any political party.”
