Following the lamp-lighting, Sanghadhikarta Dr Jugal Krishna Deka addressed those present.

In his brief remarks, Dr Deka expressed deep concern over the gradual loss of recognition of Bhattadeva’s life journey and his identity as the creator of Indian Prose Literature.

He urged the Government of India and the Government of Assam to officially recognise him as the Father of Indian Prose Literature.
