DIBRUGARH, Nov 28: Senior journalist, writer, and poet Bulan Kumar Saikia passed away at his residence in Naharkatia in Dibrugarh on Thursday after suffering from liver cirrhosis.
Saikia breathed his last at around 3:45 am at his residence on Thursday.
Saikia was born on January 1, 1976, and started his journalism career in the 1990s, working with several esteemed news organisations such as NE TV, Adinor Sombad, etc.
Apart from journalism, Saikia authored several books, including ‘Ajon Bikhur Janma’, ‘Asom Bharat’, and ‘The Arakan Intel’.
He extensively wrote about indigenous food and culture. At the time of his demise, he was working on a book titled ‘C-N-C’, which remains unfinished.
The Dibrugarh Press Club, Greater Dibrugarh Press Club, Naharkatia Press Club, Dibrugarh Journalist Association, and several social organisations condoled the death of the journalist.
Bulan Saikia leaves behind his parents, wife, daughter, and countless admirers who mourn his loss and celebrate his legacy.
