On this occasion, six thousand land pattas were distributed to residents, with plans to continue the initiative across all 26 MAC constituencies until January 30 next year.

Speaking at the event, Dr Tuliram Ronghang cited the Forest Rights Act 2006, stating that forest dwellers such as hill tribes must be granted pattas. He assured that the process follows official protocols with the signatures of all gazetted officers present.

Addressing opposition claims about illegal pattas, he warned, “All officers would face jail if any patta is found duplicate,” and urged people not to believe such propaganda.
