KAAC to celebrate 74th Karbi Anglong Day today

DIPHU, Nov 16: The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has announced that the 74th Karbi Anglong Day will be celebrated on Monday, November 17, from 8 am onwards at Taralangso, Diphu.

Preparations are underway across the district, and the administration aims to deliver a meaningful and vibrant event that reflects the cultural richness, unity and development of Karbi Anglong.

The day holds strong historical value, and KAAC has stated that it will also honour the leaders whose sacrifice and service helped shape the district’s journey.

This year’s celebration will feature a diverse range of cultural performances by different communities, highlighting the shared heritage and harmony of Karbi Anglong.

The programme is designed to promote inclusivity and bring people together through traditional art, dance and music.

An evening musical segment will add more excitement.

The Scavenger Project from Mizoram will be one of the key attractions, while popular local bands such as The Redeemers, Optic Inertia and Arak will deliver energetic performances.

Nishant Gagjer from Guwahati will also make a special appearance.

A large turnout is expected, with prominent personalities, VIP guests, senior government officials, line department representatives and employees scheduled to attend.

KAAC has extended an open invitation to all residents to join the celebration and take part in this important annual event that honours the district’s identity, unity and collective aspirations.
