KADBSS felicitates Dr Premananda Mushahary as new vice-president

HOWRAGHAT, Feb 26: In a vibrant ceremony held on Thursday, the Karbi Anglong District Bodo Sahitya Sabha (KADBSS) formally felicitated Dr Premananda Mushahary, the newly elected vice-president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha and a distinguished Sahitya Akademi Award winner.

The event took place at 11:30 AM at the Anandaram Mushahary Memorial Auditorium, located within the Bodo Sahitya Sabha office premises in Langhin, Karbi Anglong.

Dr Mushahary, who secured his position as vice-president through an election held on February 22, was greeted with immense enthusiasm by the local community and literary figures. The felicitation was marked by the traditional presentation of the Bodo Aronai, a symbol of respect and honour.

The ceremony saw a massive turnout from various primary units of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha across the district. Representatives from Diphu, Howraghat, Daima Daicha, Howraghat Tiniali, Amoni, Manikpur, Dengao, Parkhowa and Langhin were in attendance.

In addition to the primary units, several presidents and secretaries of leading Bodo organisations in Karbi Anglong were present to offer their congratulations and support to Dr Mushahary for his upcoming tenure.

“The election of a scholar like Dr Premananda Mushahary brings great hope for the further enrichment of Bodo literature and culture, specifically for the community residing in the hill areas,” was a common sentiment shared by attendees.
