KOKRAJHAR, Oct 6: Prominent national and state leaders on Monday extended their greetings and best wishes to Hagrama Mohilary on taking oath as the Chief of the 5th Executive Council of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), hailing the event as the start of a new chapter in Bodoland’s journey towards peace, progress, and inclusive development.
Union home minister Amit Shah congratulated Hagrama Mohilary on assuming office and described the occasion as “another innings for Bodoland on the path of peace, progress, and democracy,” which he said was envisioned through the historic Bodo Peace Accord signed in 2020 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda also conveyed his greetings through the social media platform X, expressing confidence that the newly sworn-in team would work tirelessly for the welfare of the people and fulfill Bodofa Upendranath Brahma’s vision of a prosperous and peaceful Bodoland.
He reiterated the Central and Assam governments’ commitment to promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development in the region.
Union minister for communications Jyotiraditya M Scindia joined other leaders in congratulating Hagrama Mohilary, describing the occasion as “the beginning of a new journey for Bodoland fostering peace, harmony, and progress across the North Eastern Region.”
Assam minister for Information and Public Relations, Water Resources, and Parliamentary Affairs Pijush Hazarika extended his heartfelt congratulations to Hagrama Mohilary and Rihan Daimari, who took oath as the chief and deputy chief of the BTC respectively.
Hazarika expressed optimism that the new BTC Government would work with unity and commitment to ensure all-round growth and prosperity in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
Minister for education and welfare of plain tribes and backward classes, Ranoj Pegu, who attended the swearing-in ceremony in Kokrajhar, personally congratulated Hagrama Mohilary ahead of the event.
He lauded Mohilary’s leadership and wished him a successful tenure as the Chief of the 5th Executive Council.
Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who also attended the ceremony, conveyed his confidence that the newly formed BTC Government would uphold democratic values and work with dedication for the welfare and development of the people of Bodoland.
Chief executive member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang, too extended his congratulations to Hagrama Mohilary on his electoral victory and assumption of office, expressing hope that the new administration would continue to strengthen regional cooperation and development.
The oath-taking of Hagrama Mohilary as BTC Chief marks a significant political milestone, drawing widespread appreciation from leaders across the political spectrum who view it as a moment of renewed promise for stability, development, and harmony in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
