DEMOW, Jan 9: The first executive meeting of Demow Regional Students Union (DRSU) was held at the office of the students’ body here on Sunday. The DRSU functions as a unit of the All Sivasagar District Students Union.
The meeting was presided over by Jayantajit Borah, president (in charge) of DRSU. Partha Sarathi Gogoi, DRSU general secretary dwelt on the objectives of the meeting. DRSU advisors Gautam Borah and Aditya Sarma addressed the gathering.
Several important decisions were taken in the meeting.
DRSU president Prasanta Sensua had resigned from the organization on personal issues.
During the executive meeting, the members selected Jayantajit Borah as the president (in charge), stated a press release signed by the DRSU general secretary.
Thowra MLA visits Demow College: For the infrastructure development of Demow College, Thowra MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) Sushanta Borgohain, visited the educational institution here on Monday. He also had discussions on various aspects of the college with members of the governing body (GB) of the college.
Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain was accompanied by Dr. Deva Kanta Phukan, Principal of Demow College; Pranab Chetia, general secretary of BJP, Sivasagar District; and Bhim Dehingia, president of the governing body of Demow College.
