May Day Observed In Karbi Anglong

DIPHU, May 1: Along with the workers of the world, workers in Karbi Anglong district observed May Day with a daylong programme.

The Karbi Anglong Motor Transport Workers and Drivers Union and Karbi Anglong Building and Other Construction Workers Union observed the day jointly in Diphu.

On this occasion, the flag was hoisted by Dilip Killing and Abdul Nur, general secretary of Karbi Anglong Motor Transport Workers and Drivers Union, also general secretary of All Assam Motor Workers Federation, Krishna Bhattarai led the remembrance of the deceased colleagues.

The All Karbi Anglong Building and Other Construction Workers Union also observed May Day in their office here.

The Karbi Anglong Labour Union (KALU) in a press release demands an increase in wages and rights for the labourers.
