MDBA Golden Jubilee celebration begins

Morigaon, Dec 24: As part of reaching 50 years of Golden Jubilee, Morigaon District Bar Association (MDBA) has organised a two-day long programme to celebrate the Golden Jubilee which has kicked off on Saturday in the premises of Bar Association. The celebration of Golden Jubilee has started with the hoisting of the flag by the president of Bar Association, Morigaon, Aminul Hoque in presence of the members of Bar Association. Thereafter altogether 49 flags were hoisted by the secretary and the members of the organisation. The senior advocates of MDBA lit the ceremonial earthen lamp of the Golden Jubilee celebration. Thereafter Kumud Ch. Mahanta and Najrul Islam Talukdar offered ‘Smriti Tarpan’.

A colourful  cultural rally on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee celebration was taken out across the town which was inaugurated by the special Judge of Salmara, Bhupen Kr. Nath. Besides a seminar on ‘Media Trial and Its Effect on Society’ was organized which was inaugurated by the District and Session Judge ,Morigaon, Sunil Kr. Puddar. An open meeting was also held under the presidency of advocate Nakibuddin Ahmed. The L.R. cum commissioner and secretary (Judiciary) Binod Kr. Shetty delivered a speech on the topic at length. He said that the democracy without media is meaningless. Media should deeply think about the news items before making it to reach the mass readers or public viewing so that the trial by the media could not harm the society.
