Minister Ajanta Neog reviews women & child development schemes in Baksa

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 31: Assam minister for finance and women & child development (WCD), Ajanta Neog, on Thursday chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of various schemes under the WCD Department at the DC Conference Hall, Mushalpur in Baksa

During the meeting, the minister conducted a detailed evaluation of several flagship programs, including Saksham Anganwadi & POSHAN 2.0 – Strengthening early childhood nutrition and development, Model Anganwadi Centres – improving infrastructure and facilities at Anganwadi Centres, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao – encouraging education and empowerment of the girl child, Poshan Abhiyaan – addressing malnutrition among children and mothers.

The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) – Providing maternity benefits to pregnant and lactating mothers and Mission Vatsalaya – Focusing on child protection and welfare was also discussed.

As part of her visit, minister Neog inspected the Bunbari Adarsha Anganwadi Centre. She also reviewed the ongoing construction progress of the 1 No Kataligaon Adarsha Anganwadi Centre, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.

She stated that the meeting has emphasized welfare and development of the women and child development across the region.

The meeting was attended by Barama MLA Bhupen Boro, Bhabanipur MLA Phanidhar Talukdar, Baksa deputy commissioner Gautam Das, and officials from the WCD Department, among other stakeholders.
