KOKRAJHAR, July 22: The Draft Electoral Roll for the upcoming Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Election 2025 was officially released across the five districts of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) on Tuesday.
The publication marks a key step in the run-up to the elections for the 40 constituencies under the BTC.
According to an official statement from the Assam State Election Commission, the draft roll includes a total of 2,669,396 voters, comprising 13,29,742 male and 13,39,637 female electors.
The roll will cover 3,277 polling stations across the region.
In Kokrajhar district, the draft electoral roll was unveiled by District Commissioner Masanda Magdalin Pertin at the DC office conference hall in the presence of representatives from various political parties. The district has a total of 700,610 voters across 12 BTC constituencies, including 3,50,325 male and 3,50,280 female voters.
In Tamulpur district, the draft roll was released during a coordination meeting held at the DC office conference hall.
The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner-cum-Returning Officer for BTC Election 2025, Pankaj Chakravarty, and was attended by Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), political party representatives, and media personnel.
The Tamulpur meeting focused on ensuring transparency in the electoral process, encouraging public participation, and providing unhindered access to the draft rolls for verification and corrections.
Emphasis was laid on awareness campaigns to promote voter engagement and ensure the smooth conduct of the elections.
The electoral roll publication process in the remaining three districts—Baksa, Chirang, and Udalguri—also commenced on the same day, as part of the region-wide rollout.
