GUWAHATI, Jan 24: The Guwahati Electrical Merchants Association (GEMA) organised the second edition of Electrofest, the largest electrical expo in Northeast India, at Vrindavan Garden, Athagaon Gaushala, Guwahati. Minister Pijush Hazarika inaugurated the expo, emphasising the importance of quality in manufacturing and highlighting the role of such events in educating and connecting society.
In his inaugural address, Minister Hazarika said, “My family is involved in this industry and I’ve become indirectly involved as well. Such electrical expos give exposure from an electrician to a trader from a remote area. GEMA brings a common platform for all for organising this Electrofest Expo.” He added, “We must focus on quality when manufacturing any product.” The expo provides a platform for showcasing electrical solutions under one roof, attracting industry professionals and enthusiasts alike.
During the inaugural function, Guest of Honour Nipon Kumar Talukdar, Shashikant Bihani from Kolors India Pvt Ltd, GEMA president Nawal Kishore Sarda, Expo Chairman Gopal Pasari, Secretary Saket Raj Pugalia and Treasurer Naveen Sethia were present.
President Nawal Kishore Sarda said, “The four-day extravaganza is set to be the largest gathering of the electrical industry in the Northeast, showcasing the latest innovations and products shaping the future of energy and infrastructure.” He added, “The second edition of Electrofest is a testament to GEMA’s commitment to empowering the electrical fraternity of the Northeast. With participation from industry stalwarts and innovative exhibitors, this expo will provide a unique platform to explore cutting-edge technologies and forge lasting business relationships.”
Expo Chairman Gopal Pasari informed that more than 140 stalls will feature a comprehensive range of electrical products with over 50 leading companies from across the nation exhibiting new innovations in switches, fans, lights, solar energy, transmission lines, switchgear and more.

Electrofest is the flagship event of GEMA, aimed at promoting growth in the electrical industry through exhibitions, product launches and knowledge sessions. The event provides a single platform for manufacturers, dealers and consumers to interact and explore new business avenues.
