BISWANATH CHARIALI, Nov 5: A devastating incident unfolded on Sunday in Gereki, Sootea, resulting in the loss of a young life identified as Chunu Ghatowar (9). The unfortunate episode involved a swift-moving Swift Dzire car with registration number AS 01 DV6451, traveling from Dhekiajuli to Biswanath Chariali along NH 15.
The vehicle lost control and collided with business establishments situated near NH 15 in Gereki. The impact caused significant damage, breaking down the shop’s post and shutter, penetrating into the closed establishment. Tragically, young Chunu Ghatowar was sitting on the steps of the business when the speeding car struck, causing fatal injuries. The force of the impact also affected the post and shutter of the shop. Additionally, three other passengers in the car suffered severe injuries.
Local residents promptly joined efforts with the Sootea police to transport the injured to Biswanath Chariali Sub-divisional Hospital. Despite immediate medical attention, doctors, unfortunately, declared Chunu Ghatowar deceased. The young child hailed from the Bhelowguri area in the northern part of Sootea.
The accident has deeply affected the community, and local authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
