MLA Bhaskar Sharma inaugurates 38 projects in Margherita

MARGHERITA, Jan 8: Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma on Thursday inaugurated thirty-eight development projects in a single day under the Margherita Municipal Board. The large-scale inauguration marked a significant step towards accelerating developmental activities in the municipal area.

The inauguration programme was organised at the Margherita Municipal Board office and was presided over by Anand Kumar Sharma, Chairman of the Margherita Municipal Board. The event was attended by Executive Officer Dheeraj Bhattacharjee, Vice Chairperson R J Devi Gogoi, Engineer Jitul Nath, ward commissioners of the Margherita Municipal Board and all staff members.

The projects inaugurated were funded through the first installment of the 15th Finance Commission for the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25, along with approved capital from the 6th Finance Commission for 2023-24. A total of thirty-eight projects were formally launched during the programme.

The inaugurated projects include various developmental works across all ten wards under the Margherita Municipal Board, such as construction of drains, roads, procurement of sanitation vehicles and other essential infrastructure works aimed at improving civic amenities.

Addressing the gathering, Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma said that development activities in the Margherita Municipal Board area have gained significant momentum. He highlighted that continuous efforts are being made for the all-round development of the municipal area, covering sectors such as roads, street lights, drains and other public facilities.

He further stated that several measures are being adopted to enhance the overall beauty and infrastructure of the Margherita municipal area, reaffirming the commitment towards sustainable and planned urban development.
