Modern English School hosts book fair

GUWAHATI, May 19: 
Modern English School, Kahilipara, Guwahati, a leading educational institution of the city, organised a highly successful two-day ‘Book Fair – 2nd Edition of Reading for Pleasure’ on Thursday and Friday. The event aimed to foster a love for reading among students, encouraging them to explore the world of literature and expand their knowledge.
The book fair, held within the premises of Modern English School, showcased a vast collection of books encompassing various genres, including fiction, non-fiction, science, history, and more. The students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a diverse range of literature and the fair attracted an enthusiastic crowd of over 1200 students from all grades. Parents and teachers also attended, supporting the school’s commitment to promote literacy and a passion for reading.
Jonali Das, the principal of Modern English School, expressed her gratitude and stated, “A book fair is not just an ordinary event, it is a celebration of knowledge, imagination, and the joy of reading. It provides a unique opportunity for students to explore a world beyond textbooks, delve into captivating stories, and expand their horizons. Books have the power to transport us to different places, introduce us to diverse cultures, and ignite our curiosity. They nurture our minds, inspire creativity, and foster critical thinking. The fair will also serve as a platform for students to engage in conversations about literature, exchange recommendations, and inspire one another to develop a lifelong love for reading.”
The school invited distinguished publishers and booksellers – Pragya Mediahype Books, Unique Publications, and Eastern Book House, Proficiency Learning Solutions Pvt Ltd to attend the event.
